Tony began his career in the insurance and financial services industry, working first for Aetna casualty and surety company in Providence and later moving into surety and financial guarantees. He was recruited to a major brokerage firm, where he managed construction and financial guarantee business for some of the nation’s largest construction companies, banks, and manufacturers. Through hard work and leadership, he became one of the firm’s youngest senior vice presidents and served on its management board.
In 1995, Tony and his wife began a new chapter as entrepreneurs when they purchased a small company that grew into an international dinnerware business with showrooms in New York, Atlanta, Dallas, and Los Angeles. He has also been active in community service, including leadership roles with Day Kimball Hospital,Seely Brown Village, and service on the Town of Pomfret’s Economic Development Commission, Board of Finance, Fire District Board, and Board of Selectmen. He helped move a long-delayed fire station project to completion in just nine months.
Tony is also widely recognized for his lifelong passion for Labrador Retrievers. He serves as a Director of the National Labrador Retriever Club. He is actively involved in promoting the use of therapy dogs targeting social, emotional, and cognitive goals most recently in Pomfret Community School.
